The Jayson Kellogg Project has evolved from a pure passion and talent for photography. Photographer Jessica Lee met Jayson only months before his second deployment to Iraq.
Jessica, who had studied photography at, Art Center College of Design, saw Jayson's work and was instantly inspired to help him develop his insecure, but obvious talent. Since Jayson's deployment in November, of 2007, Jayson and Jessica have kept in constant contact, sharing images, stories, and life with each other and have developed a passion for photography, into a purpose.
The hopes are to turn this collection of photography and personal interviews with our American troops and Iraqi citizens, into a book. There is no political agenda attached to this project and it will not reflect one perspective of any of those involved. It is to be nothing more than a true statement, of the reality and vulnerability of those involved and to give purpose and a hopeful new perspective to those who are there in place of our country and those at home wondering.
